Abstract
The article examines a study which assessed the problem of adherence in the context of use of medication in psychiatry. The research found that treatment adherence includes entry into treatment, termination of therapy or the implementation of instructions such as prescriptions for medication. It also showed that the knowledge of the adherence problem is significant for psychiatrists both in personal practice as well as consultation to other physicians. In addition, the study depicted that methods of detection include interrogation and drug identification in body fluids.
