Abstract
The article focuses on business model for staffing and equipment in a Level 1 accredited, academic geriatric emergency department (GED). Topics discussed include involves return on investment (ROI), a common business term infrequently invoked in clinical circles; COVID-19 impacts patients, staff, and a hospital's ability to conduct business and ROI question of reducing ED crowding and boarding has been addressed by capturing revenue.
