Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the carcinogenicity and mutagenicity of chromium (VI) or Cr (VI), such as the possibility that a carcinogen of Cr (VI) functions via a mutagenic mode of action (MOA). The study analyzes genetic toxicology and carcinogenicity data from open literature and the two-year rodent drinking water studies with Cr (VI) of the U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP). Results show that Cr (VI) may operate via a mutagenic MOA and stimulates germ cell mutagenicity.
