Abstract
Summary: Conclusions. Ethnic differences in substance abuse and risky sexual behaviors indicate the importance to develop target-specific intervention programs. The correlation of risky sexual behaviors with childhood sexual abuse and substance abuse underlie the necessity to address them simultaneously in northern Thailand. Demographics, history of anal sex, knowledge of HIV/AIDS and ART, and pretest counseling are important determinants of accessing HIV testing. To further scale up HIV testing in northern Thailand, it is essential to advance ethnic equity in accessing health resources and to overcome existing barriers to HIV testing.
