The article features the Quechee Gorge Village shopping center in Quechee, Vermont. In the center are stores that sell natural and local products that residents and visitors cannot find in chain stores across America. Among those that do business in the area is the Quechee Country Store. Owned by Sharyn Amberger and Mary Reynolds, the store sells American-made articles that are supportive of green themes and items that display a sense of humor. Other stores in the center include Route 4 Glassblowing and Royal Towne Gallery & Gifts.
