Abstract
The article profiles the biotechnology startup AiCuris GmbH & Co. KG which develops antiviral and antibacterial drugs. The company was the result of the spin-out of Bayer Healthcare AG in 2006. It provides an overview of the four drugs that can be used as human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) therapies developed by AiCuris. The company plans to conduct a Phase 1 trial on its immunomodulator for hepatitis C treatment in 2011.
