Abstract
The article discusses new technologies for separation phase intensification in the chemical industry with improved sustainability and reduced costs. The two new technologies being developed by TNO company, it says, include the micro-evaporator for liquid-vapour separations and the membrane contractor for liquid-liquid separations. It also notes the use of hydrophillic membrane with 150% enhanced transfer coefficient and the three stages in carrying out the solvent switch of acetaminophen.
