Abstract
Lord & Taylor, a once venerable department store, has permanently closed its online shopping destination after struggling for decades and undergoing multiple ownership changes. The Saadia Group, the current owner, relaunched Lord & Taylor as a website in 2021 but has since been shut down due to legal difficulties. The closure of Lord & Taylor was influenced by ownership changes, unfavorable economic conditions, and declining shopper traffic at department stores.
