Abstract
The DOL has provided welcome guidance for plan fiduciaries, investment advisors, and asset managers on how to navigate offering PE in a plan's investment lineup in compliance with their fiduciary obligations under ERISA Sections 403 and 404. This clears a path for private fund sponsors to access an expanding pool of institutional money and for the financial industry to develop more investment vehicles that include a private equity component.
