Abstract
The article cites a study which examines the prices for prescription drugs in Canada. When compared to the U.S. prices, the author found that Canadian generic drugs were higher by 115% and brand name drugs were 51% lower. The evidence suggests that if the government repealed public policies that distort the market for prescription drugs, it would result in lower pricing and greater voluntary use of generics.
