Abstract
The article presents the benefits of the DeepStar platform to the gas and oil industry. The author mentions that DeepStar is a consortium initated by oil retailer the Texas Co. (Texaco) in 1991 to mitigate risk and to boost results of industry operators. He said that DeepStar furnishes assistance in understanding technological advances, risk issues and approval of permits. He added that DeepStar also pioneered the ultra-deepwater and deepwater flow assurance and introduced polyester mooring.
