Abstract
Despite the ideological commitment of America to competition as essential to the efficient use of resources and protection of consumers, the U.S. has long had only a partial and largely negative public policy toward competition. The American people would be greatly benefitted by the installation of an Office of Competition within the Executive Office or an-independent Commission on Competition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
