Abstract
This article discusses how debt and negative cash flows have placed European cable companies in financial peril. The article describes how heavy borrowing in the middle 1990s, done under the assumption that ability to sell bundled services would provide enough revenue to make up for it, has not yet paid off. The article describes the business model that these companies should adopt in order to survive, uses 2001-2002 data to establish a picture of the European cable market, and gives examples of what other cable companies have done to succeed.
