Abstract
Deep-water fishing activities have contributed a wealth of novel information regarding the taxonomic composition of the Brazilian decapod fauna (e.g., Perez et al., 2003; Tavares & Melo, 2005; Tavares & Pinheiro, 2011; Nunes et al., 2017; Tavares & Lima, 2019). Guinot & Richer de Forges (1981) erected I Mathildella i (type species: I M. maxima i Guinot & Richer de Forges, 1981 from the Indo-West Pacific), a genus closely similar to I Neopilumnoplax i Serène in Guinot, 1969 (type species: I Pilumnoplax americana i Rathbun, 1898 from the western Atlantic). Family MATHILDELLIDAE Karasawa & Kato, 2003 Neopilumnoplax gervaini Tavares & Guinot,... I Neopilumnoplax gervaini i Tavares & Guinot, 1996: 226. The mathildellid I Neopilumnoplax gervaini i Tavares & Guinot, 1996, is first recorded from Brazil, whilst the portunid I Bathynectes longispina i Stimpson, 1871, is recorded from additional localities along the southeastern Brazilian coast.
