Abstract
The article focuses on the discovery of a unique burial in the Great Casterton village in the Midlands regions of England. According to archaeologist Michael Marshall, lack of texts contributed to the reluctance of people to talk about Roman Britain slavery. It cites the presence of heavy iron fetters with a padlock around the ankles of the buried man. It mentions the inability of archaeologists to determine if the man was a Roman slave due to lack of methodology for recognizing Roman slavery.
