Abstract
The authors discusses development and implementation of comprehensive respiratory assessment in advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Topics discussed include features of COPD, available therapies for COPD like lung volume reduction therapies and non-invasive ventilation, care of patients with COPD by managing symptoms and recommendations of the National Health Service of Great Britain regarding assessment of COPD and prominence of disease phenotyping and personalized care.
