Abstract
This article describes the case of a child suffering from fever, seizures and altered mental status and enumerates the subsequent check-ups and work-ups that must be accomplished to accurately give a differential diagnosis of Encephalitis in children. Several possible etiologic agents are also given such as herpes and enterovirus and a step by step approach to symptom diagnosis and management of encephalitis is discussed.
