Abstract
The title compound, C16H12O4S, was prepared by oxidation of 5,6-methylenedioxy-3-methylsulfanylbenzofuran using m-chloroperbenzoic acid. The 5,6-methylenedioxybenzofuran ring system is approximately planar and the crystal structure involves aromatic π–π stacking. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
