Abstract
Pulmonary nodules are commonly found on thoracic CT scans and can potentially indicate early-stage lung cancer. There are three types of nodules: screen-detected, incidentally detected, and nodules found in patients with a known cancer diagnosis. The management of these nodules is becoming increasingly important, as effective risk assessment is crucial for guiding treatment decisions. Risk calculators and artificial intelligence algorithms are being developed to improve risk assessment and distinguish between malignant and benign nodules. These advancements have the potential to enhance personalized and objective risk estimation in the future. [Extracted from the article]
