Abstract
The article focuses on the growing number of nanotechnology journals since the late 1990s. A survey counted a total of 161 current nanotechnology journals as of March 2012 compared with 142 as of October 30, 2010. It found that the Nanoscience & Nanotechnology subject category of the "Journal Citation Report" published by Thomson Reuters has also grown from 59 journal titles in 2009 to 64 in 2010. An increased interest in measures to assess the quality of journals is also noted.
