The article addresses the growing number of journals about nanotechnology and nanoscience. The author quantified the growth of nanotechnology journals through the use of three databases published by Thomson Reuters including the Science Citation Index, the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and the Web of Knowledge. Along with the maturity of research fields, more qualifying adjectives and suffixes have a tendency to be seen in the titles of journals as broad-based publications are connected by titles of increasing specialization.
