Abstract
The author details a research project he conducted designed to test the opinions of students on the usefulness of prose composition for their Latin learning and investigate what the students find particularly difficult about it. Topics covered include the recent history of prose composition, the value of prose composition according to R. J. Ball and J. D. Ellsworth, authors of "Against Teaching Prose Composition in Classical Languages," and the aims of learning Latin.
