Abstract
Many pathogenetic antigens were identified for pemphigus vulgaris (PV), but there are no data about the association with insulin-like growth factors (IGFs). Both growth hormone (GH) and IGF-1 were found in normal reference ranges (GH: 0.4 [0-3.5 ng/mL] and IGF-1: 132) at the beginning of the diagnosis. Animal studies showed that steroid therapy reduces IGF-1 level.3 In our case, we observed a decline in the course of the levels of IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 after steroid therapy. [Extracted from the article]
