Abstract
The article discusses a research study on virtual microscopy (VM) potentials for delivering mandatory cytology proficiency tests. Ten ThinPrep slides of participants that include two cytopathologists and three senior cytotechnologists in three virtual proficiency tests were digitized by an Aperio T3 ScanScope as to primary screener requirements and secondary screener options. Results showed correct classification of cells confirming feasibility of VM with noted problems in time allocation.
