Abstract
Time to spontaneous respiration following intervention for opioid overdose is crucial where there is no clinical backup providing oxygen or supported ventilation. On one hand a high dose intramuscular (IM) route ensures naloxone works quickly to restore breathing, on the other hand a non-invasive route is preferred by most, and the higher the dose the greater the chance of precipitated withdrawal. It is about finding the safest balance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
