Abstract
The author discusses a gram-negative bacterium, Burkholderia pseudomallei, which occurs in both humans and animals due to antimicrobial resistance. Melioidosis occurs due to the transmission of the bacterium, with several clinical signs. According to the investigation, treatment is often ineffective, but the selection of antimicrobials has been suggested to reduce the mortality rate. The disease is likely underdiagnosed in endemic areas due to limited access to medical or veterinary care.
