Abstract
The article discusses the Australian government's response to the recommendations by the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality & Safety in its final report released on March 1, 2021 which found that aged care workforce is understaffed, underqualified and underpaid. Topics include the recommended minimum staff time standard for residential aged care, the mandatory minimum qualification required for personal care workers in aged care and a national registration scheme for the workforce.
