Abstract
Highlights: [•] Rh/ZrO2 as catalysts for the catalytic partial oxidation of methane (CPO). [•] A role of the ZrO2 support, tetragonal (t-ZrO2) or monoclinic (m-ZrO2), emerges. [•] Rh/t-ZrO2 catalysts are far more active and selective than Rh/m-ZrO2 ones. [•] The interaction of Rh species with the support is stronger on t-ZrO2 than m-ZrO2. [•] Rh species are more dispersed on t-ZrO2 than m-ZrO2. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
