Abstract
The article discusses advancements for promoting substance use services for displaced populations. Topics discussed include the creation of a Thematic Working Group on Substance Use in Humanitarian Settings by the United Nations Inter-Agency Standing Committee's (IASC) Reference Group on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, the development of resources to offer guidance to organizations on substance abuse prevention, and the growth of research about substance use interventions.
