Abstract
Working on this project, the research teams from ITMO University, Russian State Institute of Performing Arts and Saint-Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation using the original charts, a 3D model of Alexandrinsky Theater stage has been designed, customized for reconstructing a 19th cent. stage event and using various archival data (photographs, ground plans, a number of literary sources etc.) Act 1 of The Seagull as performed on the stage of Alexandrinsky Theater has been reconstructed. The project offers a drastically different technological solution both for research purposes and practical use in stage direction and scenography, and thus it can have broad application in theatrical environment.
