Abstract
The article presents a study investigating whether the early efficacy of thrombus aspiration as reported in the "Thrombus Aspiration during Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in Acute myocardial infarction Study (TAPAS)" translated into clinical benefit after one year. The study methods involving patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction are described. Researchers found that thrombus aspiration before stenting of the infarcted artery improved the 1-year clinical outcome after PCI for patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction.
