Abstract
The article discusses the opportunities and challenges in the treatment in adolescents and young adults with major depressive disorder (MDD). Based on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 8.5% of adolescents have undergone major depressive episode. It cites the claim by the Institute of Medicine that the onset of 50% of all MDDs is by age 14.
