Abstract
The goal of this experimental effort was to investigate the performance and emission characteristics of unmodified diesel engine using hybrid biofuel of pine oil - Jatropha biodiesel mixed with diesel and comparing the outcome with diesel and B20 blend of Jatropha biodiesel. Pine oil and Jatropha biodiesel (JBD) were mixed in the volume ratio of 50:50, and was designated as PJM. Three different fuels were used in this experiment namely Diesel, B20J (20%JBD+80%DIESEL), and B20 PJM (20%PJM+80%DIESEL). The experimental results proved that the B20PJM blend has shown improved performance and emission characteristics than Jatropha biodiesel blend. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
