Abstract
In this article, the author discusses the importance of optics for future supercomputing. The author believes that optical technology can deal with heat generation and bandwidth limitations faced by the computing industry through energy efficient passive components, low crosstalk, and parallel processing. He also mentions advantages of using optics which include speed, energy consumption, heat generation, and another metric.
