Abstract
The article discusses as of October 23, 2020, 42 million cases of COVID-19 have been reported globally. Topics include the need to rearrange the health care system in such a way as to improve the evidence on treatment for people infected with SARS-CoV-2; and medical professionals need a well-functioning research infrastructure, including the funds to carry out research.
