Abstract
The article focuses on the efforts of the curriculum task force of the Education Committee of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) to define curricular guidelines for educators of bioinformaticians to further provide the definition of core competencies, for which several surveys were conducted. It presents two tables including one related to the skills of a bioinformatician including time management, and another on core competencies for bioinformatics training category.
