Abstract
The results of numerical modeling of compression wave propagation in layered and heterogeneous materials are presented. One-dimensional calculations were carried out by the method of finite differences and by the method of discontinuity decay in the acoustic approximation. The wave fields for the layered systems and the additive approach, as well as direct modeling of heterogeneous materials obtained by random distribution of one of the materials in the volume of the other are compared for the same volume concentration of materials. It is shown that systems with large layers do not give stationary wave pressure profiles, a decrease in the thickness of the layers smoothens the wave profiles, while in the additive approach we obtain the classical profile of the compression wave.
