Abstract
The article presents the discussion on Philosophers and theologians contest its moral significance, clinicians and bioscientists debate its probative accuracy. Topics include death determination in clinical settings should involve an informational exchange between clinicians and patient surrogate decision makers; and admit different criteria for determining death, individuals and families should be made aware of the implications of applying one criterion over another.
