Abstract
The article focuses on the use of mid-infrared imaging (MIR) to detect cancer in early stages and how emerging technologies can contribute in the development of real-time in vivo MIR imaging. Topics include the support of the European Commission to the development of technology through its Framework Seven (FP7) project called MId- to-NEaR- infrared spectroscopy for improVed medical diAgnostics (MINERVA) and the potential advantage of MIR spectroscopy.
