Abstract
The article presents a study on the relationship between HIV coreceptor tropism (CRT) and disease progression in persons with untreated chronic HIV infection. The study assesses the effect of HIV CRT on the relative risk of progression to a composite feedback of CD4 cell count ≤350 cells per microliter, treatment initiation or death. Details and results of the study are included, concluding the faster rate of disease progression to untreated patients with D/M rather than R5 CRT.
