Abstract
The article reports on the presence of an afferent pupillary defect as the best indicator of visual loss in patients with open-globe injuries as discovered by ophthalmologists in Hong Kong, China. It highlights the methodology used by researchers which predict the survival of vision in the presence of rupture and penetrating open-globe injuries. Details of the statistical analysis are discussed.
