Abstract
The article discusses the reactivation of latent HIV-1 by histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors. It references the studies "Administration of vorinostat disrupts HIV-1 latency in patients on antiretroviral therapy," by N. M. Archin and colleagues and "Amino acid starvation induces reactivation of silenced transgenes and latent HIV-1 provirus via down-regulation of histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4)," by I. Palmisano and colleagues. It suggests HDAC inhibitors' ability in reactivating latent HIV-1.
