Abstract
The article presents the author's views on the Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein's creation of a different musical genre with the theatrical productions of "Oklahoma!" and "Carousel." The distinction of the musical play is given compared to a musical comedy. Details are given highlighting the style of the producers and the popularity and innovation of their works.
