Abstract
The article addresses what psychiatrists need to know about cannabis legalization. Topics discussed include changes in cannabis legislation in the U.S., explanation on cannabis use disorder (CUD), which refers to continuous excessive use, characterized by a loss of control, psychological and social impairments, and risky behavior, and proposal that legalization of cannabis may play a role in curbing the opioid crisis.
