Abstract
The article presents a study by A. Nanri and colleagues on the correlation between levels of serum folate and homocysteine and depressive symptoms in Japanese adults. The study examined the data of 217 female and 313 male within the age group of 21 to 67 years using Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) scale to evaluate the depressive symptoms. Results indicated that the concentration of serum folate can be correlated with the increased occurrence of symptoms among Japanese men.
