Abstract
The article discusses ways to close the nutrition gap in indigenous health disadvantage, focusing on nutrition and lack of policy response in Australia. Topics include the social determinants of poor nutrition in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, efforts to enhance nutrition, and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nutrition Strategy and Action Plan 2000-2010, highlighting the importance of community consultation, improved public governance and political will.
