Abstract
The article reports on a study according to which treatment with simvastatin reduced major vascular events at 5 years in at-risk patients. The study involved 536 patients who were 40 to 80 years of age most of them were men and at increased risk for vascular events. The primary results of the research resulted in coronary death of 34 percent of patients while others include vascular and non-vascular mortality and cancer.
