Abstract
The article discusses the use of an ex vivo enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISPOT) assay to diagnose invasive aspergillosis in hematologic patients with neutropenia and pulmonary infiltrates. The ELISPOT assay provides description of the kinetics of the human response to invasive aspergillosis during the course of the disease in vivo. It tracks Aspergillus-specific T cells in the patients.
