Abstract
The article discusses the role agreeableness has to play in an individual's emotional regulation. Individuals who have high agreeable scores report more effort to regulate negative effect than individuals who have less agreeable scores. The role of lateral prefontal cortex (LPFC) in conscious regulation is discussed. Details and results of the study conducted to assess individual differences in LPFC activation during the processing of emotional facial expressions are presented.
