Abstract
The article discusses the enforcement of the consumer lending laws in Vermont as of 2017, and it mentions predatory lending laws in the state, the U.S. Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, and the failure of other American states to respond to problems involving predatory lenders. Vermont's prohibition against payday lending is addressed, along with third-party liability, mandatory lender registration, statutory loopholes, and penalties.
